The Annual Conference is an opportunity to meet up with colleagues and listen to a variety of interesting presentations.
Christine Scott-Jackson and Tony Woolstone, current and past Directors of Oxford Samaritans,
“Samaritans – an unwanted success story. How does a volunteer-led organisation handle 3.3 million annual calls for help?”
The presentation will give an overview of the work of the Samaritans, particularly focusing on callers with mental health difficulties and those in crisis.
Southern Counties CAMHS Provider Collaborative Expert by Experience Group,
“Hear My Voice”
Young People describe their experience of detention in inpatient CAMHS services and their Tribunal hearings. Volunteers from this group have recorded some video footage specifically for our Conference and we are looking forward to hearing directly from them in person to take questions from the audience.
Linda Bryant CEO of Together for Mental Wellbeing,
Together for Mental Wellbeing is a national mental health charity working alongside people with mental health issues on their journey towards independent and fulfilling lives. The presentation will cover a brief introduction to the organisation, how they support people in the community with a particular focus on a service user on a CTO’ .
Followed by Questions & Answers with the interim Resident Judge assigned to MHTMA, Elisabeth Bussey-Jones.
The cost is £35 for all members. Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.
